About us

CISS; The Computer and Information Security Society is a cohesive community with a shared commitment to the advancement of computer security. Currently running alongside computer courses at the University of Plymouth; the society allows students to be actively engaged and educated in the world of security. This is achieved by running a broad series of events such as workshops, lectures and trips as well as carrying out various research tasks to promote and share security knowledge.

The society seeks to promote professional practice that in turn can be utilised to meet demands of businesses. This is achieved by collaborations and consulting with many relevant bodies and businesses to establish excellent working practices, codes of conduct, skills frameworks and common standards within the field. CISS members are provided with the experience, skills and support to utilize and create a solid foundation required for a future career in IT.
